Sundaram Tagore Gallery will open its new new space at Singapore’s Gillman Barracks arts complex with a photography exhibition titled The Big Picture, which includes the work of world-renowned photographers Henri Cartier-Bresson, Annie Leibovitz, Robert Mapplethorpe and SebastiĆ£o Salgado, all of whom have fundamentally changed the way we see the world.

Of late, photography has acquired raised its profile in the contemporary art world with more and more leading arts institutions in the West devoting resources and space to it. The Singapore Art Museum has been quite active too collecting photography. of the work in The Big Picture has never before been shown in Singapore. The exhibition will open to the general public on Sep 15.
