"Essence of Performing,” Wu Qiong’s 3rd solo exhibition in Singapore, is opening today at ION Art Space, organized by Sujin Galleries.

In this exhibition, Beijing-born artist presents fairytale visions of childlike figures against stark backgrounds and pastel skies. His cartoon aesthetic is representative of a post-80 generation, who has been absorbing Japanese comic imagery and online gaming

His characters, with over-sized heads and expression of 'I know it all,' have often a self-mockery and sometimes a touch of dark humour.
