Established Thai luxury fashion label FLYNOW has opened its first standalone boutique outside of Thailand, choosing Singapore as its first stepping stone on the international scene. The label used to regularly showed during the London Fashion Week in the 90s, but retreated on itself after the Asian financial crisis.
The label is already well distributed internationally and continues to be present to trade shows during Paris, but attempts to expand internationally had not worked out previously. Now, the label has a brand new boutique in Raffles Hotel and has plans to open a second stand-alone boutique in Kuwait. The label has a strong following in the Middle East.
In partnershio with Front Row Group, the FLYNOW store carries the full range of the brand's premium "Back label" apparel and accessories for women, as well as the brand's made to order "Gold Label" collection.
The Black label line features very feminine, signature pieces that are gently on trend (with blocks of pastel colors for examples), but they are still pretty timeless pieces, while the Gold label (all photos) has this season a paired-down approach, with the head designer doing away with his usual lace froufrou to present a patchwork of fabric in trompe l'oeil - ie printed on luxurious stretch fabrics (coming from France). The baroque effects, inspired by a collage of different historic painting elements, is sexy but could be a bit overpowering if you're not tall and slim.
