My favorite tea brand, TWG Tea, has opened its largest salon (and second one) at MBS.
One problem with its previous salons is that you often had to wait before getting a space, especially at lunch time. The TWG Tea ‘Garden’ on the lowest floor of MBS can accommodate up to 87 people, yet retains a rather intimate feel in an elegant decor thanks to its rich hardwood tea counters, ornate mirrors, elegant Russian samovars and brass weighing scales. While the lunch menu offers some nice and light savouries (I recommend the seared foie gras salad and the smoked Scottish salmon), it is really the dessert menu that soars (their lemon tart is delicious! and so is the Creme brulee and Normand apple tart). I'm not too keen on their crepes that lack the lightness of a 'real' French ones (ie my mum's), but the recently introduced tea infused ice-creams and sorbets are suitably richly flavored. Perfect place for a self-indulging tea-time really.
