Three contemporary art venues in Bangkok will be exhibiting recent works by Pinaree Sanpitak, one of Thailand top artists, this August.
The body has been Sanpitak's continuing focus over the last 20 years (One of her installations, cushions in the shape of women breasts is currently on show at SAM). Recently, her son’s interest in pursuing studies in fashion design has led her to look at the body through the ideas of adornment.
The Art Center, Center of Academic Resources, Chulalongkorn University will present Body Borders: Anything Can Break (from August 6), an installation of hanging forms with sensors that trigger especially composed soundtracks that will engage the visitor’s body.
H Gallery will present Body Borders: Flying Cubes (also from Aug 6) , an exhibit of sculptural forms motifs of cubes with wings) inspired by origami and woven from rattan; while 100 Tonson Gallery will unveil hew new paintings in Body Borders: Paintings (from August 25)
