When I first saw this Zhou Chunya at Art Stage Singapore in January, I wasn't surprised to see a little red dot next to the painting. In Peach Blossom & Green Dog, Zhou deliberately inflates the size of the green dog and peach blossoms, challenging our visual senses with potent colour contrasts and mismatched proportions. This canvas, encompassing all three major symbols of his past series – the human figure, the green dog and peach blossoms – and is probably one of his best works. So it's quite disappointed that the buyer has already decided to put it up at auction (It will be at Christie's HK sale on May 29) .
