My favorite Thai island, Koh Samui, got a new luxury hotel, the first W in Southeast Asia. The W Retreat Koh Samui is an all-villa beachfront resort located at the peak of the north shore of the island. It has been as a modern paradise with all the W's signature features. Upon entry, guests will experience interactive digital floor projections that give way to an environment accented with off-white terrazzo floors, high ceilings clad in angular bleached wood veneer panels, large bookshelves and oversized lamps. A key element of the W Lounge is a water feature and relaxing area, inspired by the shape of a lotus flower. Right next to the lounge is the WOOBAR, which offers 270-degree views of the Gulf of Thailand and the surrounding hillside. Need I say more?
