Three Asian films have been selected to play in competition in Venice film festival this September: 13 Assassins by Japanese director Miike Takashi, Norwegian Wood by Tran Anh Hung and Detective Dee And The Mystery of the Phantom Flame by Chinese director Tsui Hark. Out of competition will be Anurag Kashyap’s That Girl In Yellow Boots, Stanley Kwan’s Showtime and Andrew Lau’s latest: Legend of the Fist: The Return of Chen Zhen.
