Gallery Hyundai is commemorating the 45th year of Park Soo Keun’s passing away with a retrospective of his works. Park Soo Keun, one of the most beloved Korean artists, was a struggling artist who came from a poor family, never received any formal art training or much attention during his lifetime. His works explored the lives of the common people, capturing their daily activities in simple lines. He’s especially known for his agrarian genre scenes depicting common farming tasks and his paintings have very distinctive grainy qualities, often in muted tones. In recent years, his works have set records at auctions.
