The Singapore Biennale is still a year away, but we (the media) already have had four or five briefings with the curating team! It's all part of understanding the process, demystifing the role of the curator and goes hands in hands with the theme of the Biennale’s Open House. This week, organizers unveiled the first 10 artists who will be participating in the event next March. They include familiar names like local filmmakers Tan Pin Pin and Ming Wong (photo), still fresh from his splash in the Singapore pavilion at the Venice Biennale, along with Dragset (Denmark/Norway), Ceal Floyer (Pakistan), Rafael Lozano-Hemmer (Mexico), Tatzu Nishi (Japan), Arin Rungjang (Thailand), Charles Sandison (Scotland), Shooshie Sulaiman (Malaysia) and Goto Design (Japan/Taiwan).
