Lulu Guinness, a British affordable-luxury brand, has big plans for Asia. Its CEO Martin Mason has announced the brand plans to open several stores in China in 2011 (both in primary and secondary cities), followed by stores in Korea in 2013 and in India in 2015.
The brand is well-known for its quirky and witty handbags sported by celebrities on red carpets. It already has a cult-following in Japan, but has been fairly low key in Asia, although it’s available at Lane Crawford in HK and at a multi-brand store in Singapore. It will soon expand its accessories line into luggage and cosmetics.
